“GOT FIGURE 8 RACING ADDICTION?”

Iowa Krazy 8 Racing Fanatics.com - Jefferson, Iowa

What is the Krazy 8 Racing Series?

The Krazy 8 Racing Series is a 19 night figure 8 series between the 3 tracks of Brooklyn, Sigourney, & What Cheer with some of the races in the series on the same night. Even though that is how the scheduling turned out, it will make the points battle tighter among all the drivers. The 3 tracks in the series will all be following under the F.E.A.R. Inc. rules for the 3 classes they are running for the series points at their track. You can find the F.E.A.R. Inc. rules on this website under this link: www.iowakrazy8racingfanatics.com/custom_1.html

Note: The drivers will also be competing for the track points each track also gives the drivers on their race nights. The Krazy 8 Racing Series was put together by:

Archie Kuntz - Brooklyn Raceway Promoter

Gene Tish - Official at Sigourney & What Cheer

John Webb - Keokuk County Expo Promoter

They decided it would be nice to have Dianna & I of Iowa Krazy 8 Racing Fanatics website be in charge of the series to keep track of the paid series drivers, points and take pictures. Everyone can go to view the points anmd pictures from the series on the website. Since I have been officially involved with figure 8 racing for 5 years and have had a love for figure 8 racing for 20 years, it was just fitting in 2008 for Dianna and I to have a Krazy 8 Racing Series that will crown a Stock, Pro Stock, and Open class champion.

Why are these 3 tracks participating in Krazy 8 Racing Series?

The tracks of Brooklyn Raceway at Brooklyn, What Cheer Raceway at What Cheer, & Keokuk County Expo Raceway at Sigourney are participating in this series for the recognition of their drivers and the great following of fans they have each race season. All 3 tracks are running the classes with payout. New this year is the addition of the Pro Stock class which falls in between Stock and Open class. You may be wondering why Barnes City isn't also in the Krazy 8 Racing Series. They were offered to be a part of the series but they didn’t want to add payout for the Pro Stock class. They wanted to run them with the Stock class cars and that wouldn’t work for points or be fair to the two classes of drivers. These points will be updated after each race weekend and posted on this website and will be watched very closely by your fellow drivers and fans.

How do you earn points and become a 2008 Krazy 8 Racing Series Champion?

You earn points by being one of the 10 or more cars in the A-Main event feature in ether Stock, Pro Stock, or Open class. A-Main is the only Main that will be awarded points at each race track event!! Each track is only allowed 1 A-Main for each event or race night. Points will be 10 points for last place and increase in 10 points increments for each place as you go up to the 1st place. On Double Points nights points will be 20 points for last place and increase in 20 points increments for each place as you go up to the 1st place.

Here is 2 example of a A-Main one with a normal points night with 12 cars and one with a double points night with 12 cars would be as follows:

Normal Points Night                                                                                             Double Points Night

1st - 120 points                                                                                                          1st - 240 points

2nd - 110 points                                                                                                         2nd - 220 points

3rd - 100 points                                                                                                         3rd -200 points

4th - 90 points                                                                                                           4th - 180 points

5th - 80 points                                                                                                           5th - 160 points

6th - 70 points                                                                                                           6th - 140 points

7th - 60 points                                                                                                           7th - 120 points

8th - 50 points                                                                                                           8th - 100 points

9th - 40 points                                                                                                           9th - 80 points

10th - 30 points                                                                                                       10th - 60 points

11th - 20 points                                                                                                       11th - 40 points

12th - 10 points                                                                                                       12th - 20 points

So NO matter how many cars are in the A-Main the last place will ALWAYS be 10 points on a Normal Points night or 20 points on a Double Points night in the Krazy 8 Racing Series. There will be 3 Double Points nights. One night at each of the 3 track participating in the series. They are as follows:

Saturday, July 12 - What Cheer @ 6:30 p.m. (Keokuk County Fair)

Saturday, July 19 - Sigourney @ 7:00 p.m. (Keokuk County Expo)

Saturday, August 2 @ 7:00 p.m.

( NOTE: Drivers the points the tracks award during the fairs or Brooklyn awards will not be Double Points. Just the points for the Krazy 8 Racing Series. )

We made sure there were nights that were big nights such as fairs and no double scheduled nights. There will be no “phantom cars” allowed. All cars entered must participate and be entered to race and not to just fill the field. The last race of the season in Sigourney on Saturday, September 13 will be Krazy 8 Series Championship Top 10 points cars in the 3 classes along with a normal night of figure 8 racing. All the Top 10 drivers for each class will be notified of their placing to be there that night. There will also be a track champion bonus points. The top 10 in each class will get a track champion bonus of 100 for 1st and 10 points decrease increments per position with 10 points for 10th. A maximum of 1 track bonus will be counted. All your nights at a Krazy 8 Racing Series track will be counted toward your points in the feature events.

Even thought there are 19 nights of racing a driver will only be able to earn 15 nights of points due to 4 of those night out of 19 nights of racing are on the same nights. Unless there would possibly be a rain out and a track would reschedule there rain date on different nights. If a track is rained out and not rescheduled then that is just how the points will be for the season.

How will the Top 10 drivers each race night be recognized?

The Top 10 drivers for the 3 classes Stock, Pro Stock, & Open class will be recognized each race night at the 3 tracks by the announcer who will have the Top 10 driver’s list from each race and will announce the drivers names several times throughout the evening. Drivers who might not be participating in that nights racing will also have there names announced. The Top 5 drivers also at the 3 tracks will be distinguished by a flag that will attached to their cars the nights they are participating at one of the series races.

Who are the current sponsors and how can you become a sponsor?

Iowa Krazy 8 Racing Fanatics.com - Jefferson, Iowa

Any sponsors or businesses that would like to become a sponsor that are interested in getting their name mentioned throughout the evening at the 3 participating tracks each race night needs to call Jason Bryan at 641-203-2351 for more info on become a sponsor. There in no minimum to becoming a sponsor and all sponsorship money or products will be put towards the end of season Krazy 8 Racing Series Awards Banquet. Your sponsorship doesn’t have to be money. It can be gift certificates to your business. One idea is a Class Sponsorship Program. As a Class Sponsor your company name will be named every time your class is mentioned. Example XYZ Pro Stock Figure Eight cars are pulling onto the track. You can pick a certain class you want to be a sponsor of. The minimum to become a class sponsor is $500.00.

Will there be a Krazy 8 Racing Series Awards Banquet?

Yes there will be. The Top 10 in each class will be recognized with awards along with a lot of specialty awards such as Rookie of the Year, Hard Luck Awards, Best Appearing Car for each class, Fan Favorite for each class, etc. The party will be in the off racing season which take place in Deep River, Iowa at the Community Building. The date for the Krazy 8 Racing Series Awards Banquet will be announced before the series season is over so everyone who wants to attend will have a chance to RSVP.

Is there a cost to be in the Krazy 8 Racing Series?

Yes there is a one time entry fee of $25.00 dollars per driver per class to be in the Krazy 8 Racing Series and to earn points. What that means is if you race more than one class and want to earn points for each class it will cost $25.00 per class. You can’t be a fill in driver for a series driver to earn him points. You can race someone else car but the points go to the driver not the car. If you are one of the Top 10 drivers in the feature event and not a paid series driver you won’t each points but all the drivers that have paid will earn there points for there respective position they earned that night in the A-Main features. You may ask why do we have to pay to racing in a series. This is a self funded series for the drivers that will have money being put towards the end of the season purse and awards along with any sponsorship money. We feel the cost to enter the series is low and figures out to only be $1.67 for the 15 possible out of 19 night of racing. All the drivers that pay will have there name & car # listed on the Iowa Krazy 8 Racing Fanatics website with paid behind there name. If there is a car with in the same class with the same number we will put a name initial behind the car number so there is no confusing in the series points. To enter the series fill out the drivers bio form you will find below and send $25.00 dollars cash or check made out to JASON BRYAN to:

Iowa Krazy Racing Series

c/o Jason Bryan

204 East Vest Street

Jefferson, Iowa 50129-2750

Or you can also pay Jason & Dianna Bryan at one of the 3 participant tracks. The sooner you pay the better. Because of one of two reasons. You won’t start earning points until you pay your series fee. There won’t be post dated points awarded to you from races that you weren’t a series member of. The second reason is the nights that are doubled scheduled I won’t be able to be at each track. I will only be able to be at one of the tracks. But you can pay me anytime you see me at the track.
